Workshop | Guided Soul Journey with Cyrstal Sound Bowls

90 mins of Relaxation, Mind Reset and Energy Clearing

Guided mediation including individual Heart Opening with tuning forks, grounding with essential oils and clearing with crystal sound bowls.

Each person will receive a heart opening before we begin, as well as some grounding techniques followed by a journey much like a guided meditation with reflective questions and visualizations.

Sheryne will lead you into a deep place of relaxation where you will listen to the bowls for 45 mins, then be brought into awareness gently with affirmations.

Malina Dawn Muskegon

Malina is a queer nehiyaw-ahpihtawikosisān iskwew (Cree Métis woman) who weaves together, the worlds of indigenous wisdom and yogic knowledge. Raised on the prairies and well travelled through her young adult years, she found her own healing path through Yoga and the Red Road. Through reclaiming her culture and applying the principals taught in traditional ceremony and the science of yoga, she has experienced great healing and personal transformation. Through this indigenous world view and way of life, she has discovered how these two paths have parallel teachings, deep roots, sweet medicine and weave together beautifully. She is now a drum carrier and learns the traditional teachings under the guidance of her elders.

She is a strong voice for decolonizing wellness by teaching how to use traditional, indigenous, and yogic ways of life appropriately and as medicine for healing physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. She uses her experience and knowledge of the medicine wheel to offer a unique understanding of the yoga path.

Today she creates healing spaces for in person and online yoga classes, retreats, ceremonies, workshops and trainings all over turtle island. She has spent the last 15 years working with indigenous, non indigenous and LGBTQ2S+ youth. She continues to work with people of all ages and walks of life to guide them to the reclamation of their own culture, identity, body and healing through a trauma informed lens. She is passionate about sharing her culture, building bridges in community, emotional intelligence and honouring the interconnectedness in all of Creation.

She is currently living, learning, unlearning and loving life on the traditional unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. (Vancouver, BC)

As an archivist, grief counsellor, yoga and dance instructor, somatic practitioner, complex trauma survivor, and compassionate human it is my desire to provide a safe space for witnessing and healing as we journey together through this beautiful, and at times heartbreaking, gift of life. I am passionate about movement as a way to uncover and bring us closer to the innate connection between mind, body, and soul, igniting acceptance and love for self and others. RYT 200 (advanced training in YIN, Restorative & Yoga Nidra)

Cheryl began her yoga practice 20 years ago to help manage sports injuries and stress from her corporate job and quickly realized that it helped her stay centred, nimble, fearless and loving through many challenges and life transitions. Cheryl grew up dancing and running and has retired from a 30 year career as a business executive. For Cheryl, yoga is much more than stretching, it releases tension and creates a sense of ease and space by connecting body, mind and breath.

Cheryl holds space for her yogis to enhance body awareness and take time to quiet the mind, reduce tension and create more ease - on and off the mat. Her classes focus on core stability postures through a gentle moving mediation and when combined with some longer stretches and soothing restorative positions, will leave you feeling calm and relaxed. When not teaching yoga, Cheryl can be found walking her dog Savana around Steveston with her husband, or around town during pet therapy visits to Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design or Richmond General Hospital.

Jenine’s love and respect for the yoga practice pours from her heart into her classes. With over a decade of teaching experience, she brings simplicity, ease, and grace on the mat, trusting her inner wisdom to guide her in sharing what will best serve her students moment to moment, supporting them in realizing their greatest potential.  Jenine began practicing yoga at a young age and has deep respect and reverence for all the teachers who have shared their wisdom and guidance along the way. In 2006, her journey led her to Mysore, India where she practiced with her teachers Saraswati Jois and Sharath Jois at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute and lived there for two years. In 2009 she completed her 200-hour Teacher Training with Ericka Blitz and 80 hours YHot Teacher Training with Alex Atherton and Kristin Campbell. In addition to sharing her love of yoga with her community, Jenine is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist through the Coastal Academy of Hypnotic Arts and Science, a Certified Spa Therapist through the Vancouver School Of Bodywork and Massage, a budding writer, artist, and poet. Committed to the long and winding path of personal healing, Jenine believes that the only way to go is IN. That inside every living being there is an oasis. A place where we can land, be still, and drop into the simplicity and magic of the present moment. That place of peace where we can transcend beyond ego, beyond the boundaries of this physical world, and live in harmony, deeply and wholeheartedly rooted in LOVE.

Rishell was introduced to yoga a decade ago and it quickly developed into the weekly ritual that helped her reconnect with her body to reduce daily stress, process emotions, set intentions and truly be present with her children, her team, her students and her coaching clients. It has been a life changing practice that she is so excited to share in community with others who need a little presence in their lives. Defy Gravity started as the creation of a space Rishell recognized she needed as a child and has grown into the space she needed as a stressed-out-single-Mom-CEO that she is humbled to share with you.

Pricing, Packages & Policies

Kids Classes (3-8 yrs)

$120 + gst 45 min class for 8 weeks

Youth Classes (9+ yrs)

$144 + gst 1 hr class for 8 weeks

Family Yoga

$144 + gst/adult, $72 + gst/child 1 hr class for 8 weeks

Adult Classes

$65 for 1 hr classes, $80 for 75 min classes 4 week sessions. Keeping you accountable on the mat

Reservation Policies
Reserve your spot in class now - spaces are limited.  All classes must be reserved online before coming to the studio.  Adult Classes are held in 4 week sessions, Child/Family classes are held in 8 week sessions to keep you accountable on the mat.  New 4 week sessions beginning every month!

Cancelation Policies - Winter/Spring 2022

We do not offer refunds on 4 week sessions purchased.  We will offer credit for a future session because of medical reasons. Please keep us up to date on your medical situation.

Workshops

Workshops are separate from classes and are an amazing way to try new healing modalities, meet new friends and dedicate time to yourself.  Fees are listed per workshop.

Facility

We have three gorgeous studios with high ceilings and natural light allowing you to relax in the comfort of safe distance yoga in a luxurious setting.  Our common space has a large sofa, comfortable seating options and gorgeous natural light - the perfect place to quiet the mind before class or sip your water after class.  We have a touches water filling station to help keep our yogis hydrated.  Please remember to wear your mask throughout the common space unless actively eating or drinking to help keep our yoga community safe.

 

We keep our studios uncluttered by providing cubbies in our change room area and hallways.  Please leave outerwear and shoes in the cubbies provided - they are sanitized regularly.  As we share the space with a dance studio, there are other people in the building while you are in class.  For simplicity, please keep valuables, yoga mat and water with you and turn off your phone to create the sacred space you need to be present in each class.

Covid Protocol

Before you Arrive
Sign up for your Classes online.  Stay home if you have any signs of illness or have come in contact with anyone with Covid 19 - help keep your yoga community safe.

Upon Arrival
The studio will be open 10 minutes before classes begin each day.  You are welcome to spend time in our common space to relax before class, fill your water bottle or use the washroom facilities.  Masks are recommended in all common spaces.  Your instructor will invite you into the studio to set up for class.  Please wash hands or sanitize your hands with the sanitizer provided in hallways and each studio.

We have medical-grade air sanitizers that fully cycle through the air in studios and common spaces every 15 minutes to ensure your safety!

During Class
Once you enter the studio, place your mat in a designated safe-distance spot and set yourself up for class.  You may remove your mask once situated on your mat for the remainder of class - please remain on your mat to maintain safe distance.  Once class is finished, we recommend that you put your mask on to move about the room or exit the studio through common space.

**Yoga props are available in studio with the exception of mats.  Please bring your own mat to each class to meet current Covid Safety Protocol.

After Class
Please pack up your things when your class ends and use the common space as an area for connection with fellow yogis.
